ALBERTO DJADDAH JAMOUS
Founding Partner
GRUPO ANIMA
The founding partner and lead developer of award-winning commercial real estate investment and development firm Grupo Anima, Alberto Djaddah Jamous has overseen the creation of unique live, work, and travel spaces for the last two decades.
Under his strategic and creative direction, Grupo Anima’s international portfolio has included luxury apartments and condominiums, creative office properties, hospitality and vacation properties, as well as retail centers in the U.S. and Mexico. Djaddah Jamous’s unique design approach keeps Grupo Anima’s Mexican-American heritage at the heart of each property it develops. Djaddah Jamous also holds a high standard for unparalleled consistency in attention to detail, innovative design and quality materials.
INTERNATIONAL NETWORK
By creating close relationships with key businesses abroad, Djaddah Jamous has brought together the strengths of international markets. He integrates innovative American design and technology with handcrafted Mexican materials of the finest quality.
His prelude into the international market began in 2012 with a partnership between Grupo Anima and global engineering firm Arup Group. During this first transpacific architectural endeavor, Djaddah Jamous collaborated with Belzberg Architects, an award-winning boutique architecture and interior design firm based in Santa Monica, California, where he met owner Hagy Belzberg. Their connection initiated several award-winning collaborations, as well as multiple on-going projects in Mexico and Los Angeles. Both abroad and in California, Djaddah Jamous and the Grupo Anima team ensure each property location is judiciously selected based on the neighborhood’s unique style, culture, and amenities, which become part of the building’s experience.
Grupo Anima’s portfolio includes buildings in coveted locations like Santa Monica and the Pacific Palisades in Southern California, Mexico City’s chic Condesa, Roma, and Cuauhtémoc neighborhoods, and Mexico’s exclusive beach resort of Punta Mita on Bahía de Banderas.
COLLABORATIONS AND AWARDS
Today, Belzberg Architects and Grupo Anima engage their employees in cross-cultural educational programs by sending employees to shadow team members at their offices in California and Mexico City. This exchange brings new insights to their collaborations and encourages team building abroad, while garnering a series of prestigious awards.
